Renée A. Beach, MD, FRCPC – Dr. Beach graduated from McMaster University’s School of Medicine where she was one of 5 medical students province-wide to be awarded the PAIRO Citizenship Award for excellence in clinical medicine and academic performance.
She subsequently completed her dermatology residency at the University of Ottawa. During residency, she served as Chief Dermatology Resident and was the only resident to be awarded the D.C. Montgomery Award for Best Resident Research twice. She has completed electives and preceptorships at Duke University, Wake Forest University and the University of Cape Town in medical, pediatric, and cosmetic dermatology and has a specific interest in treating dermatologic disease in a broad range of ethnic skin.
Dr. Beach has collaborated both locally and internationally on research endeavours with publications in the Archives of Dermatology, Journal of Cosmetic Dermatology, Dermatologic Surgery, Clinical Pediatrics and other peer-reviewed journals. Her research has also been recognized with international awards from the Skin of Colour Society, the Women`s Dermatologic Society and the North American Hair Research Society.
Dr. Beach has obtained dermatology board-certification in Canada and is a Fellow of the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada. A member of the Canadian Dermatology Association, the Ontario Medical Association, the Skin of Colour Society, and the North American Hair Research Society, she also practices at Women’s College Hospital where she supervises and teaches medical students and residents.
