CND Shellac™ and other Gel nail procedures are a relatively new manicure/pedicure technology which has achieved the unthinkable: zero-drying time and glossy, chip-free nails for at least 2 weeks. INTENSE PULSED LIGHT IPL IN THE SUMMER MONTHS, IS IT SAFE??

At the Bay Dermatology Centre we use the BBL system for our IPL treatments.  IPL targets unwanted melanin pigment in the skin and destroys it. It can also target ones own natural pigmentation. This is why you cannot get IPL when you have a tan.  If you commit to wearing sunscreen during your IPL treatments there is no reason why you cannot have IPL in the summer.  This should not pose a problem because everyone should be wearing their sunscreen anyway :)
